WENRECO TO SPONSOR TOP YOUNG ATHLETES FOR NATIONAL COMPENTITION

In a powerful show of commitment to youth development and community empowerment, West Nile Rural Electrification Company (WENRECO) has organized a regional athletics run for children aged 17 and below across the West Nile region. The event brings together young talents from different districts, promoting health, unity, and opportunity. but most importantly to get athletes that will represent the region  at the national level. 

Kenneth Kigundu – Manager, WENRECO says that they believe development goes beyond electricity. It is about empowering communities, especially the young generation. 

This Under-17 run is aimed at nurturing talent, encouraging discipline, and promoting healthy lifestyles among our youth. 

And also opening greater opportunities for them. According to him Sports teach resilience, teamwork, and determination — values that are essential for the future leaders of West Nile. By organizing this event, we are investing in the dreams of our children and strengthening the bond within our communities."  

Sports Officer, Arua City  Lika Moktar This initiative by WENRECO is very important for the people of West Nile. It creates a platform for young athletes to showcase their abilities and gain exposure. Many talents in our region go unnoticed due to lack of opportunity. 

Events like this help identify and develop potential stars who can represent our region and even our country in the future. Beyond competition, it brings unity, keeps children engaged in positive activities, and strengthens community pride."

Alema Brian one of the former wenreco Participant exprressed his  happyness to take part in this run. It has given me confidence and hope that one day he can become a professional athlete. He thanked WENRECO for organizing this opportunity for them."

Ayikoru patience another Participant says this event has brought many young people together. It feels good to compete and make new friends. ''I have learned that with hard work and discipline, I can achieve my dreams."  The atmosphere was filled with excitement, determination, and joy as participants gave their best performance.  

The Under-17 run organized by WENRECO stands as a symbol of hope and progress for the West Nile region. By promoting sports among young people, the company continues to demonstrate that true development is about empowering communities and building a brighter future.
