An unidentified woman in her 20s is battling for her life at Arua Hospital after a terrifying attack by goons on the morning of Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The young woman, who had been robbed of her belongings, sustained severe head injuries after falling into an unfinished septic tank while attempting to flee from her attackers.

The incident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. in Nsambya South Cell, located in the Awindiri Ward of Arua Central Division, Arua City. 

According to eyewitness reports, the woman was accosted by a group of goons who forcefully stole her belongings before she tried to escape the scene. In her desperate bid to get away, she ran towards an open area but tragically fell into the incomplete septic tank, where she suffered significant head trauma.

Local residents who heard her screams rushed to the scene and managed to rescue her from the pit. She was quickly transported to Arua Hospital, where medical personnel have since been fighting to save her life. At the time of reporting, her condition remains critical, and her relatives are yet to be identified. 

Authorities are investigating the matter, but there have been no arrests made in connection with the robbery and assault.

The incident has left the local community in shock, with many calling for increased security and vigilance in the area. The tragic event highlights the growing concerns over crime in the region, and residents are urging law enforcement to take swift action to prevent further attacks on innocent civilians.
