Police in Arua District have arrested two suspects in connection with a break-in at Ajia Police Station that resulted in the theft of government property, including a laptop and medical supplies.
The suspects were apprehended following a tip-off on June 8, 2025, when one of them was allegedly caught trying to sell a stolen laptop at Aliwa Trading Center. Upon interrogation, the suspect led police to his accomplice, who was later arrested.
West Nile Regional Police spokesperson, [Insert Name], confirmed the incident, noting that investigations are ongoing to recover all the stolen items and ascertain how the security breach occurred.
“This is a serious incident involving the theft of government property from a police facility. We acted swiftly after receiving intelligence from members of the public, and we commend them for their vigilance,” the spokesperson said.
Initial reports indicate that the store at Ajia Police Station was broken into during the night, and essential supplies, including a government-issued laptop and various medical items, were taken.
The suspects are currently being held at Arua Central Police Station and are expected to be charged in court once investigations are complete.
