Terego District — West Nile

Redeem International has conducted a landmark training for clan leaders across Terego District, equipping them with the knowledge and legal guidance necessary to protect inheritance rights and prevent property-related abuses in their communities.

The training, held this week, brought together clan leaders from various parts of the district to deepen their understanding of lawful inheritance procedures, with a special focus on safeguarding the rights of widows and orphaned children.

The Prime Minister of Lugbara Kari Cultural Institution, Rt. Hon. Tuku Ismail, applauded Redeem International for spearheading the initiative, noting that cultural leaders have now clearly understood that it is against the law to divide or distribute property of a deceased person without following proper legal channels.

He emphasized the need for cultural institutions and clan systems to work hand in hand with legal frameworks to protect vulnerable families.
