Arua Central Member of Parliament, Atima Lee Jackson, has continued his community engagement campaigns, drawing large crowds as residents turned up in big numbers to listen to his progress report and future plans.
The MP resumed his activities on Monday in Onzivu, Bazar Ward, where locals gathered to interact with him as he seeks a second term in office. On Wednesday, the campaign trail moved to Awindiri Ward, attracting another impressive turnout of enthusiastic residents.
Community members—including elders, youth groups, and opinion leaders—lined several access points to welcome their area MP and to hear firsthand about the ongoing projects under his leadership.
During the rally, Arua City NRM Chairperson and former Minister, Bakoko Bakoru, appealed to voters to support all NRM flag bearers, especially the President and MP Atima Lee Jackson, praising them for their dedicated service to the people of Arua and Uganda at large.
Addressing the crowd, Atima highlighted key development achievements made over the past five years. These included:
- Infrastructure development, particularly his support toward road rehabilitation in parts of Arua Central and the wider West Nile region.
- Improvements in the education sector, with contributions to school facilities and the provision of learning materials in targeted institutions.
- Health sector interventions, including follow-ups on health centre upgrades and support for community health outreaches.
- Programs empowering youth and women, conducted in partnership with local organizations to enhance skills and promote small-scale enterprise growth.
- Strengthening community service delivery, with efforts to improve coordination and communication between residents and local leadership structures.
Many supporters echoed similar sentiments, praising Atima as a generous and committed leader. They noted that no other leader in West Nile has supported communities the way he has, expressing confidence that he deserves to return to Parliament.
Local opinion leaders described the engagement as a valuable opportunity for citizens to express their concerns, ask questions, and receive updates about constituency affairs.
The visit to Bazar Ward and later Awindiri Ward forms part of Atima’s ongoing community engagements across Arua Central as he seeks renewed confidence from the electorate.
MP Atima Lee Jackson’s recent rallies demonstrate not only strong community support but also growing public interest in transparent leadership and continued development in Arua Central. As residents confidently voiced their appreciation and expectations, the engagements highlighted a renewed bond between the legislator and his constituents. With major achievements in infrastructure, education, health, and empowerment programs, Atima’s campaign enters its next phase with momentum, setting the stage for a competitive but spirited political season in the division.
