Residents and traders of Lubenda Market have been urged to vote wisely in the forthcoming elections to ensure continued development in Arua City.
This call was made on Wednesday during a campaign rally by NRM flag bearer, led by the incumbent area Member of Parliament Atima Lee Jackson, who is seeking a second term in office.
Speaking to a large crowd, the NRM City Chairperson at the same time former Minister Bakoko Bakuru, the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) and other party leaders encouraged voters to support all NRM candidates.
They said the ruling party has a proven record of delivering development, citing the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom they credited for bringing peace and progress to the country and Arua City in particular.
During the same engagement, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Central Division, Sarah Molly, said the party is focused on protecting the gains already achieved. She urged the people of Lubenda Market to strongly support NRM candidates in order to consolidate development and maintain political stability.
Meanwhile, the former Arua City Mayor, Issa Kato, warned voters against losing leaders who have consistently served them well. He specifically asked residents to retain Atima Lee Jackson, describing him as a committed leader who has represented the people of Arua City diligently.
Addressing the gathering, Atima Lee Jackson, the current Area Member of Parliament, highlighted key achievements he has delivered during his five-year term.
He also dismissed claims that he has been inactive in Parliament by playing audio recordings of his parliamentary submissions, demonstrating his participation and advocacy on behalf of Arua City.
