Local council one chairpersons of Arua city are demanding government to enhance their welfare especially increment in their salary and establishment of offices for all cells and villages in the country.
The local council one chairperson of Upper Bibia cell, Pangisha Ward, Ivan Shakuru explained that they are paid 10,000/= per month adding that don't even have offices to do their work.

The deputy speaker of Arua Central Division, Mr. Victor Vidal Lomori admitted that salaries of the local council one chairpersons are very little that the government needs to look into the matter as well as meeting their other demands.
There are 11 members of executive in the office of local council one and if 10,000/= is divided amongst them they shall each receive 1100/=. Per month as their salary.
