ARUA CITY — Host Hub Innovation Center has opened its doors to more than 70 young creatives in Arua City as it launches Cohort One of the Next Creata Programme, an initiative aimed at equipping young people with practical digital and media skills.
The programme targets young people aged 18–35 and focuses on skills including content creation and video production, graphic design, social media management, digital storytelling, personal branding, freelancing and creative entrepreneurship.
Participants will also have access to Host Hub’s Content Creator Hub, an industry-focused facility supporting podcasting, video editing, digital production, content creation and freelance work.
Notably, more than 95 percent of the first cohort are female, highlighting the programme’s focus on increasing opportunities for young women in Uganda’s growing digital and creative economy.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates and gain exposure to opportunities within the creative industry, with the broader goal of turning digital skills into meaningful and sustainable employment.
The Next Creata Programme will run for three years, with new cohorts expected every two months in Kampala and 14 other regions across Uganda.
The programme is funded by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by ITC, Bayimba Foundation and Next Media Foundation.
Host Hub Innovation Center says the launch marks the beginning of a long-term effort to build a strong pipeline of young creatives equipped to participate in Uganda’s digital economy.
