Arua City Council Football Club has partnered with Switzerland-based non-profit organisation SCORT Foundation to explore the use of football as a tool for promoting peace and nurturing young talent in Arua City.

The partnership discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between SCORT Foundation, Arua City Council and Arua City FC to create opportunities for young footballers to develop their skills and realise their potential.

In a statement following a meeting with representatives from SCORT Foundation, an Arua City official said the discussions explored strategic cooperation, exchange visits and initiatives aimed at exposing young players to broader football development opportunities.

The official welcomed SCORT Foundation’s interest in working with Arua City FC, noting that such partnerships could open new opportunities for young people while contributing to the growth of football in the city.

The collaboration is expected to explore ways of using football not only to develop sporting talent but also to strengthen peaceful coexistence among communities.

Football remains an important platform for engaging young people, promoting teamwork and encouraging positive social interaction, particularly in communities seeking to build stronger relationships through sport.

The proposed partnership signals a shared interest in using sports development to empower young people and contribute to peacebuilding efforts in Arua City.

Further details on the implementation of the partnership are expected as discussions progress.
