Ayivu Division, Arua City – May 8, 2025

The second day of the Arua City Constituency Development Fund (CDF) induction training concluded on a high note with a comprehensive field visit to the Ayivu Division Headquarters. The highlight of the day was the presentation of a projected design for the proposed Shs1.9 billion Onduparaka Community Market, aimed at transforming the local trading environment.

Accompanied by technical and political staff from Arua City, the CDF committee members were guided through the blueprint of the modern market facility, which is expected to significantly boost economic activity in the area upon completion.

The visit also included a tour of the current Onduparaka market, where the team engaged with local vendors to better understand the prevailing challenges and expectations. The vendors expressed strong support for the new development, describing it as a long-overdue intervention that will improve their working conditions and enhance livelihoods.

Speaking during the visit, local leaders reiterated their commitment to ensuring transparency, community involvement, and timely implementation of the project. “This market is a symbol of hope for our people, and we are dedicated to seeing it realized with the highest standards,” said one of the city officials.

The Shs1.9bn market project is part of broader efforts under the CDF to support grassroots development, improve infrastructure, and uplift communities across Arua City.

The induction training continues with a focus on project monitoring, budgeting, and community engagement strategies to ensure effective utilization of public resources.
