Kampala — A group of artists affiliated with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have officially launched an umbrella association aimed at promoting the party’s achievements and government programs through music and the arts.
Dubbed the Movement Combined Artistes Association, the group is led by renowned musician Emma Nsereko, popularly known by his stage name Munamasaka. The association was formally commissioned on June 4, 2025, at the NRM Secretariat in Kampala.
Speaking during the launch, NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong commended the artists for taking the initiative to unite under a common platform. He emphasized the power of music as a tool for communication and mass mobilization.
> “A message passed through music goes deeper, has a lot of meaning, and can translate messages to the lowest person in society,” Todwong remarked. “This association will play a significant role in bridging the gap between the government and the citizens, especially the youth.”
The formation of the Movement Combined Artistes Association marks a strategic move by young creatives within the ruling party to leverage their talents in support of national development and political education.
Munamasaka, the chairperson, noted that the association will not only amplify NRM’s voice through music and performance but also serve as a platform to nurture young talent aligned with the party’s ideology.
> “We believe music is a powerful tool for transformation. Through this association, we are ready to work with the leadership to spread messages of peace, development, and patriotism,” he said.
The launch event attracted several artists, NRM mobilizers, and government officials who pledged support towards the association’s objectives.
The Movement Combined Artistes Association plans to roll out a series of community outreach concerts, media engagements, and mentorship programs aimed at fostering unity and political awareness across the country.
