Arua City, May 8, 2025 – In a move aimed at strengthening service delivery and enhancing collaboration between citizens and technocrats, the newly elected members of the Arua City Development Forum (CDF) held a vital engagement session with Arua City technical officers earlier today.
Organized through the Forum’s Thematic Working Groups, the interactive meeting provided members with a rare hands-on opportunity to interface directly with city technocrats. The session focused on equipping forum members with the necessary technical insights to enable them to kickstart their roles from a well-informed position.
Speaking at the event, Arua City Clerk Mr. David Kyasanku emphasized the importance of mutual understanding between office bearers and community representatives. “This is an important step toward ensuring transparency and accountability. We believe that through informed participation, service delivery can be greatly improved,” Kyasanku noted.
The engagement also drew remarks from Arua City Mayor, His Worship Sam Wadri Nyakua, who commended the newly elected forum members for their commitment and readiness to serve. “Bridging the gap between service beneficiaries and office bearers is key to our city’s development. Your role as a forum is to ensure community voices are heard in planning and implementation,” he stated.
Participants received technical guidance on various aspects of city development planning, budgeting, and project implementation, setting the stage for a more engaged and effective forum.
The session marks a promising beginning for the new Development Forum as it prepares to play a critical role in fostering inclusive governance and driving sustainable development in Arua City.
