MATCHDAY: URA HOSTS SOLTILO BRIGHTSTARS IN MUKONO

URA FC will host Bright Stars in the four StarTimes Uganda Premier League games on Thursday afternoon.

The visitors Soltilo Bright Stars make a trip to Mukono to face hosts URA aiming to register their first win of the 2022/2023 Uganda Premier League season.

In their last game at home to UPDF, they threw a lead to draw 1-1 and will hope to be lethal at both ends of the pitch.
Asaph Mwebaze will hope his forwards Sam Ssenyonjo, Nelson Ssenkatuka and Emmanuel Loki among others don goal scoring boots on the afternoon.

The Kawempe based side are unbeaten in all four games played so far but not with any maximum points.

Meanwhile, URA are also winless in two games played at Nakisunga drawing both against Onduparaka and BUL.

However, they picked an important victory in their last outing beating hapless Busoga United 4-1 at Kakindu and will want to build on that.

George Ssenkaaba, Derrick Nsibambi and Kabon Living will be the key players upfront to unlock a usually organized Bright Stars backline.

Currently, Uganda Revenue Authority rank 6th, while Bright Stars hold 10th position. Looking to compare the best-rated player on both teams.

URA FC Captain’s views:

“We are determined and want to win tomorrow’s game. “We have 5 games left and we can’t afford to lose any of these. ”Bright Stars eliminated us from the Uganda Cup which was painful. “We are going to reduce on the mistakes we made last time.

HEAD 2 HEAD STATS

This will be the 13th meeting between the two sides. In the first 12, URA has won 5, lost two and drawn the other five against Bright Stars. Bright Stars have never defeated URA away from home in the League with their only victory at the Tax Collectors’ home coming in the Uganda cup in a 2-1 in on 18th February 2019. 

The reverse fixture last season saw URA beat Bright Stars 1-0 before once again enjoying victory (2-0) over Kajoba’s charges in the first League meeting of this campaign. URA head into the game having lost only one of their last 9 League games (W5 D3). At home, the Tax Collectors have lost twice in their last 7 games (W3 D2).
