From a humble beginning to stardom gives an account of the Arua (West Nile’s) born sensational young and talented forward Sadat Happy Anaku. Based on the prominent records of Anaku as early as 2019 when he set out a new scoring record in FUFA Juniors League with 27 goals, there is no doubt that today he sits and dines with big boys at Dundee United FC of Scotland.

Who is Anaku Happy Sadat?

Nicknamed while at KCCA FC as Adha, Sadat Happy Anaku as the name goes was born in Arua district as of 9th December 2000 to Asiku Kizito and Amina Elebu. Anaku spent earlier moments of his times in Arua but later would be moved to spend most of his youth full times of basic education at Lugazi when his parents shifted to Lugazi, Buikwe district where he grew up. Anaku is a Lugbara name literally meaning, I have not eaten, a traditional name Lugbara give to males based on the situation under which a female would produce more boys than girls to whom dowry could be attached. Anaku Happy Sadat currently is 21 years old as of 2022.

Anaku’s Educational Career:

As key to his basic primary Education, Anaku joined Lugazi Primary School for P.1 in 2007 before moving to Lusozi Primary School, Elgon Infant School and Lugazi West Primary School where he completed P.7 Because of his footballing talent, he earned a scholarship at Central College Bulenga where he studied S.1 and S.2. In Senior three, Anaku moved to Kasawo SS in Kayunga district but left the school while in senior five in 2017 to join Kibuli SS where he completed his S.6 last year.

Football Career at KCCA Junior Team

Sadat Anaku, a graduate of the KCCA FC Junior Team joined the club in 2016 and played for the junior side until 2019. He is also the all-time top scorer of the FUFA Juniors League with 83 goals in 52 games. As of 2019, Anaku was promoted to the KCCA FC senior team and scored 6 goals in 17 games in his first season on the senior team. This could be seen in the games statistics in which Anaku bagged 9 goals in 20 games in 2020/21 season and would later score 7 goals in 23 games in the 2021/22 season. In total, Anaku has scored 83 goals in 52 games for the KCCA FC junior team and 22 goals in 67 games for the KCCA FC senior team. This makes it 105 goals in 119 games for both the junior and senior sides of KCCA FC. Everyone at the club thanks Anaku for the memories and wishes the player all the best for the future

Football Career at Dundee

As the news broke out on how Dundee had secured the signature of the KCCA forward, many were taken by surprise as to how first the deal went. However, reports to dailywestnile.info indicate that the Anaku transfer deal started trickling as early as 2021 after the Uganda government Fundi project in which by the Ugandan Government as part of a ‘Team Fundi’ project,

showcasing the talents of the country’s top 22 players in a series of games at a Spanish training camp. Dundee United watched Sadat net four goals in one game at that camp and, following an integration period at Tannadice, he has excelled. Deployed as a number 9, in friendlies with Leicester U21s, Arsenal U21s and Newcastle, Sadat underlined his quality.  

He also netted a hat-trick in a 6-2 Dundee United B Team win over Queen’s Park earlier this week before penning a deal with United until the summer of 2024. 

Anaku becomes the first player from KCCA FC to join a football club in Scotland. Dundee United FC is a Scottish professional football club based in the City of Dundee, Scotland. Nicknamed The Terrors or The Tangerines, Dundee were founding members of the Scottish Premier League in 1998. Domestically, the club has won the Scottish Premier Divison once in 1982/83, the Scottish Cup twice in 1994 and 2010, and the Scottish League Cup twice in 1979 and 1980. United reached the European Cup semifinal in 1983/84 and the UEFA Cup final in 1987. Sadat will join United from Kampala Capital City Authority FC (KCCA FC), subject to a work permit and international clearance.
