Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has called for an investigation by the Nigerian government and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) into the mysterious death of former Kano Pillars striker Abubakar Lawal, who was killed under suspicious circumstances in Uganda.

Lawal, who was playing for SC Vipers in the Ugandan Premier League, was initially reported to have died in a traffic accident on Monday. However, Ugandan police later provided a conflicting statement, claiming that the 30-year-old forward fell from a building, Voice Mall, shortly after his girlfriend, Naima Omary, had left the room to run errands. The two had checked into room 416 to spend time together.

New revelations have emerged regarding Naima Omary, a Tanzanian woman involved in the incident. Sources indicate that she is an alumna of St. Mary’s Kitende, where she was studying on a basketball scholarship. She had left Tanzania for Uganda, telling her parents she was going to play basketball—a claim later debunked.

The case has raised several questions due to the contradicting statements surrounding Lawal’s death. Police investigations have confirmed that Lawal arrived in a silver Toyota Rumion (UBQ 695G) to meet Omary, adding further intrigue to the mystery.

Musa has urged authorities to swiftly unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic death, and the Nigerian football community anxiously awaits further updates.
