Busoga United FC 1-0 Onduparaka FC

The Jinja City based Busoga United stayed their chances of surviving relegation when they beat drop-bound Onduparaka 1-0 at Kakindu Stadium on Monday.

The win registered by Busoga United FC brightened their hopes of surviving relegation by overcoming Onduparaka FC on Monday at Kakindu Stadium.

The relegation six pointer saw Busoga claim maximum points thanks to Peter Onzima’s early strike. Peter Onzima scored the game’s only goal as matchday 22 closed.

Onzima scored as early as the third minute after being set up by Ibrahim Kayiwa. Busoga’s Benon Tahomera’s tenacious display earned him the Pilsner Man of the Match accolade.

The win, confirms Busoga’s eighth in 21 matches, keeps them a place above relegation in 13th, but it at least opens up a six-point lead on Blacks Power right below them.

For Onduparaka, it was a terrible defeat as it came against a direct rival to survive relegation.

The West Nile side remain bottom of the 15-team table on 13 points after losing 11 out of 20 matches.
